This is the extended trailer for Focus on the Family's The Truth Project. The Truth Project is an innovative DVD curriculum that teaches viewers how to develop a systematic and comprehensive biblical world view. Educator Dr. Del Tackett is both engaging and winsome as he teaches Christians to apply biblical truths to every area of life.
The Christian world view can be summed up in a single phrase: "Jesus is Lord" -- which is the first creed of Christianity. Understanding Christ's lordship over all of life is no easy task. Yet, once we begin to understand that all of life--not just "church" life--is of intense interest to God, we are able to bring a renewed sense of purpose to our lives and faith. The Lordship of Christ does not allow us to ignore art, politics, or literature, any more than it allows us to ignore the lost, hungry, sick, or the poor. Only by seeing the world through God's eyes, or what we call "thinking Christianity," will we understand our mandate to redeem the fullness of our culture and reach out to a dying world. Bottom line: our interests can be no smaller than God's.
Dr. Tackett is president of the Focus on the Family Institute and former Executive Vice President to Focus on the Family. He also is an adjunct professor at New Geneva Theological Seminary and Summit Ministries. Dr. Tackett served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and served at the White House during the George H. W. Bush administration where he was appointed by President Bush as the director of technical planning for the National Security Council. Following his service at the White House, he served in various senior analyst and manager capacities at Kaman Sciences Corporation and ITT Industries. He is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.
